While the script is written for the rest of
JJ Abrams Star Trek,
has announced that the writer Roberto Orci - with IDW Publishing and CBS Consumer Products - a comic book will be published to keep us all up the next film now scheduled to be released in December 2012. It will begin in September and will not be only from the initial recovery (a phrase which I know is an oxymoron), but will borrow from previous episodes of the original Star Trek television series. Coverage has been released and we've included after the jump. No word on Tribble, but consider this a vote for Tribble. No? ... No Tribble? ... Well then.According to "Orci Star Trek", this is simply an inexpensive way to continue telling the story of the Enterprise crew will be launched while a big-budget film produced in the meantime:
"The movies cost money. Lots and lots of money ... But the comedian gives us unlimited budget for the crew of the Enterprise farther than ever before. Let's go!"
A story about the episode was changed to "When a man has gone before" with the crew to travel to the end of Galaxy, only to be exposed to energy, which makes them divine beings. This forces the Captain Kirk to give up with crew members before they become too strong. And one of these members is a Heisman, Gary Mitchell, a character who is thought to appear in the sequel. It has left the planet Delta Vega is what remains when Kirk, Spock in the film. In fact, these comics could be worth reading before the next film.
And here is the cover by Tim Bradstreet. It also covers other Bradstreet and drawn by David Messina. Comic book itself is creatively directed by Orci, written by Michael Johnson (Orci, because the script is written), and illustrated by Stephen Molnar.
